About Stephanie Kagel

I have a passion for educating young learners on how to access abilities they did not know was possible, and use these abilities to reach their highest potentials. I believe in creating strong, independent, and confident students; who have the capacity to become leaders and innovators in their world.

I am a licensed K-8 teacher and Literacy Specialist with over a decade of experience in curriculum development, elementary teaching, teacher training, and STEM programming (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s Degree in Literacy Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno, and am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Valdosta, Georgia. Through my education, I possess extensive knowledge in literacy theory and child development, enabling me to deeply understand and implement research-based best practices for intensive, targeted reading instruction to promote the development of strong critical thinkers.

I have spent several years in the lower and upper elementary grades, working with students to identify and remediate learning gaps, creating a strong foundation for successful learning outcomes in Reading, Writing, and Language instruction. I am excited to bring this education, background, and expertise to the Academic Transformations classroom!
